At Championship Martial Arts Curry Ford, we’re proud of every student who steps onto the mat—and even more proud when their dedication is recognized beyond our walls.
One of our own, Alicia San Miguel, has done just that.
At just 14 years old, Alicia—known to many as “The Kicking Queen”—recently made headlines for her accomplishments in karate. What started as a simple school demo when she was just six years old has turned into a journey of focus, perseverance, and big achievements.
Today, Alicia is a black belt and a five-time national champion. Most recently, she earned her first world championship title in Korean forms, a huge milestone for any martial artist—especially someone her age.
She’s also excelled in divisions like Bo Staff, CMX Forms (creative martial arts forms without weapons), and traditional kata. Her versatility, dedication, and energy are what make her stand out—not just in competition, but in class.
Originally from Colombia, Alicia and her family moved to Orlando, where she now trains and continues to grow alongside her sister. She credits her instructors, coaches, and family for helping her stay motivated and focused.
At Championship Martial Arts Curry Ford, we believe karate is more than kicks and punches—it’s about building leaders, strengthening families, and helping kids grow into confident, capable individuals. Alicia is a shining example of that mission in action.
We’re so proud to see her story featured and her hard work recognized on a larger stage. This is why we do what we do—to help students of all ages become the best version of themselves, both on and off the mat.
Way to go, Alicia—we’re cheering you on every step of the way!
